An Indian film playback singer, actor, director, and music director, he is the son of the Indian singer and actor Kishore Kumar . Amit Kumar has the original voice of Kishore without having any nasal touch to his voice like other Kishore clones but as he withdrew himself from film industry after 1994, he has been under-utilized by music directors, in spite of him having extremely good voice.Amit sang all the songs for the 1981 film Love Story, and won a Filmfare Award for the duet "Yaad aa rahi hai" with Lata Mangeshkar.
