Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest - DarkEvil87's Longplays - Super Nintendo

In this collection of videos I show you how to beat Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest for the Super Nintendo (SNES). WARNING, THE GLITCH THAT I SHOW YOU ON WORLD 6, THE MORPHING GLITCH, CAN ERASE YOUR SAVE FILE, BE CAREFUL!!!

So, the morphing glitch. All it might seem to do is fuck up/freeze the game. but its intent is to make your character morph into another graphic from the game. While I don't know what happens behind the scene in the RAM of the game, it fucks it up so bad that it will mostly freeze the game completely and immediately in some/most cases (in my case, you see my characters become a weirdly colored single parrot for about 1 second before it freezes completely, having to reboot).

This can happen by accident if you do all kinds of crazy stuff while waiting for a game to move on (like I do sometimes), but should not most of the time as you need to do this very specific thing: take a barrel, move as close to a solid end (wall) as possible, then put the barrel down, but while Diddy's in his animation to put the barrel down, pick it right back up and it will break, leaving you empty-handed, but as if you were still holding a barrel. At this point, it's usually no return. Just throw that invisible barrel, it should break and a glitch will occur. Anything can happen at that point.

I've had nothing much happen, which is rare and mostly seems to happen if for some reason the invisible barrel doesn't "break" after you throw it. Another thing that happens is that an enemy or object present somewhere in the general area could teleport right where you "broke" the barrel (which is part of what happens in my case, as that Rambi barrel was actually somewhere outside the left portion of the screen) Finally, and this is the intent, Diddy (if Dixie is present, she disappears) will morph into pretty much any character, object, enemy and you can't really do anything.

Oh and also, often the game will just freeze without doing anything worth the trouble and after that freeze, your save file could be erased. I'd say 100% don't do this on your console if you care, even a tiny bit, about your save.
