We were right about this week being the week HTC makes the One Max phablet official, but we didn't think it would be this early in the week. Maybe it is to avoid cluttering tomorrow with the rumored LG Nexus 5 announcement. Nonetheless, it's here, it's official, it's big, and it reads your fingerprints like a... iPhone 5S?

It looks exactly like the HTC One (and One mini), which isn't a bad thing at all. There's a large, 5.9-inch screen on the front, which has a resolution of 1080p, and, we can only hope it has the same quality as the one found on the One flagship. The outer aspect and resolution is not the only thing borrowed from the One. There's a quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor at its core, aided by 2GB of RAM. Internal storage is either 16 or 32GB but there's an option to further expand it via a microSD card.

The camera is the same UltraPixel camera (reportedly, without the stabilization, like on the One mini), and there's a fingerprint reader on the back. Android 4.3 powers everything, HTC Sense 5.5 is on top of it, and there's a 3,300mAh battery to power everything, though there will be a cover with a built in 1,200mAh juice pack to charge it on the fly. BoomSound is also in, and the radio offers support for LTE in Europe and Asia, as well as compatibility with US carriers Verizon and Sprint.

Expect the HTC One Max to pop up internationally as early as next week (end of this week in the UK), while Verizon and Sprint customers will have to wait until the Holiday season. less
