The Nokia Lumia 925 is made of the Aluminum frame that we've been waiting for in the codename: catwalk leaks we've been teased for months now. This makes the device significantly lighter than the Lumia 920, and by significant, we mean 50 grams lighter. Those that complained about the 920 being a brick will see this problem solved with the 925. The design is actually a mix of an aluminum frame with a polycarbonate back that's available in both grey and black. There are some trade-offs though, as the 925 doesn't include wireless charging out of the box, and you'll have to purchase a separate cover that'll be sold in red, yellow, black and white in order to enable the feature. Another difference with the 920 is the display. Instead of going for IPS, Nokia has chosen a 4.5-inch AMOLED panel in order to provide the device with deeper blacks and sharper contrast, though the resolution remains at just 1280 x 768.

Sadly, the differences with the Lumia 920 end there. The Lumia 925 sports the same dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor, the same 1GB of RAM, and as a downgrade, the 925 starts at 16GB of non-removable storage that some carriers will also bump with a 32GB variant, where the Lumia 920 sold only at 32GB.

The camera is the same 8.7 megapixel sensor as the Lumia 920, but it provides an additional sixth lens that provides sharper detail in photos. Probably what Nokia invested more on is in camera software as their Scalado acquisition is seen in the unique software included for the 925. The device takes 10 photos when you press the camera button, which allows you to get a "best photo" feature, Action Shot (which combines several images of a moving subject to create a stop-motion single shot) and Motion Focus (which adds a simple motion blur to everything that's not moving). less
