Stacy Schiff is the author of Cleopatra: A Life, as well as the Pulitzer Prize-winning Vera (Mrs. Vladimir Nabokov) and the Pulitzer Prize-finalist Saint-Exupery. Stacy's book A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America won the George Washington Book Prize, the Ambassador Award in American Studies and the Gilbert Chinard Prize of the Institut Francais d'Amerique.
