The Berlin International Film Festival, also called the Berlinale, is one of the world's leading film festivals and most reputable media events. It is held in Berlin, Germany. Founded in West Berlin in 1951 at the initiative of U.S. Film officer Oscar Martay, the festival has been celebrated annually in February since 1978.The public programme of the Berlin International Film Festival shows about 400 films per year, mostly international or European premieres.

The 64th Berlin International Film Festival will take place from 6 February to 16 February 2014.
