Racing games are by their very nature, really thrilling. You've got the high speed, the crazy turns, the death-defying leaps and jumps, and so on and so forth. Of course, not many of us actually have the ability to do those high speed etceteras so it can be quite the thrill to try them out at via the aforementioned racing games. So without any further gilding the ado, or any more mixing of metaphors, let's take a look at the Age of Speed games!

Sure, racing games are rather plentiful out there in the nebulous world of Internet Land. So much so, that by the immutable laws of probability, there are plenty of racing games out there that are, well... shall we say, "lacking in quality". Fortunately though, this game is not one of them, and you'll find that it is easily one of the most enjoyable free racers out there today.

Perhaps the most obvious drawing point of these games is that the level of attention paid to detail is easily above the norm. You've got excellently modeled cars, tracks, and environments that all serve well to further enhance the ambiance and atmosphere of each game. Granted, you may scoff at the games for not being next-gen enough, but in all fairness, when compared to other 3D games out there in Free Game Land (which is a vassal city state within the larger Republic of Internet Land and can be found near the County of Cat Videos) it's easily in the top brackets.

Added to the graphics, you've got great audio as well. Sure, it's not Super Mario Bros. catchy or memorable, but the music does the job well of providing great atmosphere to get your blood pumping as you perform all of the crazy twists and turns each game has to offer.

And speaking of twists and turns, this is where the game really shines. Rather than do boring stuff like keeping the game realistic and making it a simulation of real racing, the game instead opts to go in the opposite route and say, "who cares about realism? I want things to be cool!" and it does it well. Unlike typical oval or figure eight racing tracks, what you'll be racing through in these games is much more similar to a roller coaster than anything more reasonable. Sure, it might not make sense, and it might certainly defy the laws of gravity and physics, but hey, it's a game, and if it looks cool and it plays cool, then there's no complaining about it.

What's more, each of the games provides a great challenge. Sure, they're not hard enough that you'll be punching through your screen in a fit of rage, but the games don't hold your hand either. You won't be led around like a little baby on levels that spoon-feed you everything. Because of that, the sense of accomplishment you get from finishing each level is that much more impressive.
