We're checking out some Eden Star gameplay, a pre-alpha, fast paced sci-fi survival game currently in V0.2.1. In Ep 1, I'll be showing you folks a walkthrough of the systems, some crafting, and some combat. Eden Star just received a huge update at the end of September including a new map, new modular weapons, new construable stuff, new creatures...just a ton of things. Eden Star is a game that features free form base building, material and resource gathering, and plenty of combat. Blending what almost feels like 3D tower defense with hectic first person shooting, Eden Star has two distinct play styles. In the day time the planet you are surviving on is peaceful. You can wander around collecting resources, obtaining rare items, and building base components, weapons, and various other important items that will keep you alive. The base building is fairly extensive, with a large amount of structures and cosmetic systems that you can use to really spruce your little piece of the planet up.

Then comes the night time. The night time sends waves of brutal aliens at you, and it's the duty of what meager defenses you've managed to construct in about 20 minutes of game time to hold up while you constantly get bombarded. Each enemy has different attacks, some are incredibly fast, some can fly, some explode once they make contact with your base like little suicide bombers.

Eden Star has done an amazing job at combining the slow, peaceful feeling of base building with an insane FPS rush, and ensures you get to experience all of it in a 30 minute window! Eden Star is considered Pre-Alpha, but if feels much more polished than a Pre-Alpha if you ask me. less
